Foresomes draw.

  • The Foresomes event takes place on October 21/23/24/25 playing over Seafield golf course from the yellow tees. The draw is as follows: Wednesday game 1 is J Burnett & I Young, R Lees & G Cavanagh; game 2 is P Cavanagh & R MCGill; Friday game is E Borland & W Rae, J Bryden & G Christie; Saturday no game; Sunday no game. This competition is a pairs alternate shot event and members are reminded that anyone who wishes to be entered into a game must contact Alan Muir/John Brodie before putting their name into BRS. Anyone who fails to do so will be disqualified and charged the entry fee for this event. Members are reminded that the Two's competition does not run in the Winter season due to the shortened length of the courses and the possibility of playing on temporary greens - the event will return with the Alloway Pharmacy Qualifier in April 2027, and good luck to everyone taking part.

    • October Medal results.

  • The first Medal of season 2026/27 took place on October 7/9/10/11 playing over Seafield golf course from the black tees and with variable weather as well as difficulty obtaining weekend tee times, only 19 members took on a wet, heavy course where distance was at a premium and preffered lies were now in place. The best gross score of 73 (4 over par) was fired by Alan Smeeton with birdies at holes 5/14/17 in his round. In 3rd spot with a nett 71 (2 over par) was newly crowned 7-time Club Champion, Robert Gilchrist whose solitary birdie came at hole 16. Unfortunately, the triple bogey 7 at hole 12 probably, denied Robert the chance to win as he finished 2 shots behind our leader. In the runner-up spot with a nett 69 (level Par) was last season's leading sweep money winner, Ronnie Lees with birdies coming at holes 5/14 but the poor start with a triple bogey at hole 1 definitely cost Ronnie the chance to win. Our winner this week and winning his second medal in a row having won September's event, was Michael Duffy as he tied Ronnie with a nett 69 but was triumphant on countback due to the better inward half. This win earns Michael a spot in the end of season Medal Final event next September. We had a single 2 fired at hole 15 by Scott Kirk but as everyone knows the Two's competition does not run in the Winter season due to the shortened length of the courses and the possibility of playing on temporary greens - the event will return with the Alloway Pharmacy Qualifier in April 2027.

    • Winter League 1 draw.

  • The first Winter League event of season 2026/27 takes place on October 14/16/17/18 playing over Fullarton golf course from the yellow tees. The draw is as follows: Wednesday game 1 is I Speirs, R Lees, P Cavanagh, J Brodie; game 2 is J Burnett, S Kelly, I Young, G Cavanagh; Friday game is E Borland, J Bryden, W Rae, G Christie; Saturday game 1 is A Smeeton, M Mancini; game 2 is A Muir, T Bloor, S Kirk; Sunday game is D Edgar, R Gilchrist. This competition is a best 3 from 5 Stableford points event and the 3-time defending Champion is James Burnett. Members are reminded that anyone who wishes to be entered into a game must contact John Brodie before putting their name into BRS. Anyone who fails to do so will be disqualified and charged the entry fee for this event.   • Please refer to the email instruction sent out on 10/08/20. If members require further assistance in this matter they should contact John Brodie (Secretary).

    • Amendment to procedure

  • Following 2 incidents where a member was left without a game, the following procedure must now be followed by all players who pull out of a game after the draw has been made. It is now a requirement that the player pulling out contacts EVERYONE PLAYING IN THE GROUP to inform them. This should happen as a common courtesy but clearly has not been.
